My husband and I have been to Wild Roots several times. Every time, the food is totally 'on the mark'. Chef Peter is wildly creative with the menu and his creations are genius. Owners, Jayne and Josh run the front end. This is refreshing to see in a local establishment, to be hosted by them is delightful. The crew is always fast, pleasant and professional. The well done early american, natural feel of the decor allows us to truly relax into our meal. This is one special place that works hard to deliver the finest quality local product and service. It succeeds on all levels. KUDOS!
We had the pleasure of dining at Wild Roots in Roylton while on vacation in Vermont and had a lovely experience. The interior is tastefully decorated with modern accents complimenting the historic colonial inn. Tables are spaced out between several small rooms providing an intimate dining experience. Service was attentive but not intrusive, our waitperson was both knowledgeable and pleasant. The menu focuses on sourcing from local farms so it is both fresh and varied with the seasons. One can find a number of healthy options to choose from and as vegans we felt we could find suitable selections. The real treat came when the chef was alerted to the fact vegans were dining with him that evening and he went above board to prepare a dinner for us composed of items off the standard menu in concert with several delights he prepared specially for us. The food was unique, beautiful and utterly sumptuous. Peter the chef is a kitchen wizard and we had the pleasure of meeting him at the conclusion of our meal. The overall dining experience was outstanding, everyone at Wild Roots was a joy. But what really topped it off was the exquisitely delicious food, a rare treat.
Great restaurant. Definitely my new favorite in the area. The food is unusual and delicious. The menu varies depending on local produce at hand. The owners took the time to come over and talk with us at length about the restaurant and their approach. Everyone from waiter, bartender and owners were very friendly and professional.
Food was good when we knew what it was! Lots of charm to the establishment. Did we really have to pay for the ice in our drinks in Vermont?!!
